Emma Donnellan

A Bit About Me

Emma has been a qualified music teacher for over 13 years. After graduating from Leeds Conservatoire in 2011 with a BA (hons) in Classical Music as a Flautist, she was awarded a bursary to continue her vocal studies. Emma then completed a PGCE in Music Education at the University of Greenwich and Trinity Laban Conservatoire and has taught Music in schools across Kent and South East London.  The majority of her time teaching Music and Musical Theatre, has been at a Secondary Performing Arts specialist school. During this time, Emma also directed the school choirs and musical theatre productions.

Emma has had extensive experience performing with choirs in venues such as Wembley Stadium, Horse Guards Parade, Coventry Cathedral and the Royal Albert Hall. She has performed in the social club and pub scene for several years as a vocal and keys player, singing music from various pop genres.

Emma's approach to teaching is student centred and allows students to build their skills as vocalists based on what they aspire to achieve. She enjoys the technical aspects of how the voice works and uses this in her teaching to allow students to understand how to sing healthily and safely.
